Our responsibility to the environment

We are committed to minimising our environmental impacts as well as determining the risks climate change presents to our business and stakeholders. We have increased the monitoring of our environmental impact, seeking to improve our processes and reduce our carbon footprint.

Over the course of 2022, we implemented a number of improvements to our building energy management system. This includes reducing our office space in our Head Office to one floor, due to the majority of our people working on a hybrid basis.

Premium Credit’s operations have seen an overall reduction in energy use by 6.9% compared with 2021. In particular there has been a reduction in building energy use, with gas consumption down by 41%. We continue to review our business travel activity through the introduction of electric vehicles for our salesforce.

We encourage waste recycling in our offices and have limited amount of waste going to landfill. Our priority is always to recycle, reuse or reduce across our business to help ensure any used materials are keep out of landfill. We have recently adopted an reuse IT programme for all our laptops and desktops being offered to schools and charities.

Sustainable procurement

We expect our suppliers to comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. As part of the supplier due diligence process, suppliers are asked for their environmental policies and are expected to have read and understood our code of conduct.

As we progress in this area, we will be reviewing our Tier 1 suppliers and their commitments to the environment, to work together on this agenda to improve progress in respect of Climate Change.
