Chris Emmanuel, Head of National Accounts, Premium Credit gives a personal account having attended this year’s tour.

Well, that’s another Tour of the Regions completed and possibly the best yet. It was a real privilege to attend, alongside a distinguished panel of speakers and the 900+ brokers who joined us across eleven regional events.

An annual highlight
To me, the BIBA Tour of the Regions is always one of the highlights of my professional year. The opportunity to travel the country with the enigmatic and dynamic BIBA team never disappoints and this year was no exception. Key members of the BIBA leadership team including Graeme Trudgill and David Sparkes, the Regional Committees and wider support team excelled once again putting together enlightening and informative events at each location visited.

Special guests
This year’s guest speakers included Matt Brewis and Lisa Sturley from the FCA and Emma Holroyd from Flood Re. For the regional broking community to have direct access to those at the very top of our Regulator and other key players was invaluable.

Each leg of the tour was well attended, and each one was interactive. Of course, Matt and Lisa received and answered a multitude of questions, but all of the speakers fielded their fair share of well-thought-out queries and comments from engaged audiences, proving that the BIBA committees truly understand the interests and needs of their industry peers.

Networking & Learning
The chance to network with our Partners in person was a highlight, but equally, the content in the tour sessions was of such a high quality. Even those of us who have spent decades in the industry came away with something new from each event. My knowledge of parametric insurance, AI and cyber is immeasurably better as a result of the sessions I attended in Anglia and Northern Ireland.
