It’s been a week of contrasts, with great sadness and optimism in equal measure. As the nation mourns the loss of Captain Sir Tom Moore, the war veteran who united the country during lockdown with his heroic fundraising efforts for the NHS, we also celebrate a landmark figure as over 10 million UK residents have now received the first vaccination jab.
Despite the difficult times we have all faced during lockdown Captain Sir Tom inspired us all and lightened our lives in these dark times. Having raised over £32M for NHS charities, by walking 100 laps of his garden to celebrate his 100th birthday, he has left us with an incredible legacy. Not only will NHS charities benefit from the monies raised; his foundation and the memories of this positive, compassionate and selfless hero will remain.
His chart-topping duet with Michael Ball ‘You’ll never walk alone’ is a memory many will cherish. The sentiment of hope, support and positivity outlined in this classic song is something we should all reflect on, whether it’s in our personal or business lives.
